Starting and ending in Kathmandu, this three day hike offers beautiful sceneries and shows insights into Nepali history, culture and religion. This hike is well suited for almost all age groups. The trail takes you to Shivapuri national park, with views of the mountains, rhododendrons and pine forests. This comparatively easy graded hike is also a perfect gateway to experience the culture and life style of Nepali people in a rural region. Day to Day

Day 01 – Drive to Sundarijal and hike to Chisapani – 4-5 hours walk

Transfer from Kathmandu to Sundarijal on a one-hour drive. From here you start your trek to Chisapani, where you enter the Shivapuri National Park. This park provides beautiful views of the Himalayas, and varied flora and fauna. Along the way you come across a small lake and you will have stunning views of the valley.

Day 02 – Hike to Nagarkot – 5-6 hours walk

Wake up early to see the snow-capped mountains at sunrise. After breakfast, you start your trek to Nagarkot. On the way you will pass Chauki Bhanjang, where you will pause for lunch. From here, you descend to Nagarkot, where on a clear day you can see the Himalayas from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east. Here you will spend the night.

Day 03 – Hike to Changu Nayaran and drive back to Kathmandu – 3-4 hours walk

You can wake up early to climb up to the 3600 view tower, for a view of the Himalayas at sunrise. On this last day you will hike to Changu Nayaran. The first part descends down the road, after which you will climb and descend on a path through the forest. You will pass small villages and walk on a ridge from where you have an amazing view of the valley. You will eventually end up in Changu Nayaran, the oldest Hindu temple of Kathmandu valley, which is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings. From here you will transfer back to Kathmandu.
