Poonhill one of the most popular treks, which offers a mesmerizing view of the Himalayas along with natural beauty, diverse flora and fauna, the varieties of lifestyles, culture and traditions of the local people. This short poonhill trek allows the travelers to view the most spectacular mountainsights. The trekking trail passes through charming settlements of Gurung and their slate-roofed houses, amazing rhododendron forests, and unparalleled scenic mountains. Poonhill, the heart of Annapurna, displays beautiful views at sunrise. It is breath taking, as the sun changes its colour from pink to gold to silver – a rewarding experience!
Day 01 – Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri (4-5 hours)
Day 02 – Trek to Ghorepani (5-6 hours)
Day 03 – Hike to Poonhill and trek to Gandruk (6-7 hours)
Day 04 – Trek to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara (5-6 hours)

After breakfast, you will take a one and a half hour drive to Nayapul. From here you will start trekking. You will walk along the Modi stream to reach Birethanti, a village with loads of tea shops and guest houses. Then you continue along the Burungdi stream, hike up to the valley of Hile and Tikhedhunga, which leads you to Ulleri village. Ulleri is a beautiful Magar village. Here you will stay for the night.
Today’s trek is a steeper uphill walk, with stone staircases. During the walk, the first views of Annapurna South appears. You then pass through Rhododendron forest. After crossing a stream, you will arrive at Banthanti. Following a stream up a narrow valley with more stairs you eventually end up in Ghorepani, where you will stay for the night. From here you can enjoy the spectacular views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range.
You get up early in the morning, for a one hour climb to Poonhill. From here you can see tremendous views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range at sunrise. After viewing all the mountains, you trek down to Ghorepani for breakfast and proceed to Tadapani. From Ghorepani you will follow the path through forests. You keep climbing along the ridge through pine and rhododendron forests, with more spectacular views on the way. The trail then descends to a stream, going to Tadapani. From Tadapani the trail descends through forests to Gandruk, which is a village of Gurung people. They are known for their distinctive culture, customs and life style. From here you have amazing views of Annapurna range and Macchapuchare.
Today starts with a steep descent down a stone stairway. When you reach flat ground, you will cross a stream followed by an easy walk to Chane village. Another short descent leads you to Birethanti and Nayapul. From here you will take a drive back to Pokhara.

The climate in Nepal changes with hight and season, varying between -100 on the high treks and 300 on the lower treks, so you need to bring a variety of clothes to Nepal
